Oahu Workforce Development Board meets once per quarter or as needed to discuss workforce development initiatives and the workforce development system in Hawaii. Pursuant to the Hawaii Revised Statutes, all official agendas are filed with the City Clerk’s Office.

Committee Meetings and Scopes
Executive Committee:
The Executive Committee facilitates personnel related matters including hiring and compensation, recommendations are taken to the full board for discussion and decision-making. Other standing committee recommendations are initially considered at Executive Committee and subsequently those recommendations are taken to the full board for discussion and decision-making. Recommendations and proposals are voted on and discussed amongst the Executive Committee before moving to the Full Board.
Data Management and Technology Committee:
The Data Management and Technology Committee focuses on the management of Workforce-Related data points. Work closely with Performance Measures and Accountability committee to relay pertinent data points. Creation and upkeep of an all-encompassing dashboard for data accessibility for the other standing committees, board members, and the public.
Employer Engagement Committee:
The Employer Engagement Committee works to facilitate engagement of employers in workforce development programs, including small employers and employers in in-demand industry sectors and occupations. Coordination of workforce development programs and economic development. Avocation for organizational quality standards to build and sustain employer partnerships.
Performance Measures and Accountability Committee:
The Performance Measures and Accountability Committee measures performance and effectiveness of the local fiscal agent (where appropriate), eligible providers under WIOA Title I programs, and the one-stop delivery system in the local area. Evaluations include a review of areas of effectiveness, programmatic and physical accessibility, continuous quality improvement, and integration of services.
Sector Strategies and Career Pathways Committee:
The Sector Strategies and Career Pathways committee works to develop strategies and action plans to coordinate services with secondary and postsecondary education agencies. Establishment of training and educational strategies to develop and improve the skills and knowledge of employees and job seekers based on employer requirements. Support Sector Partnerships and in-demand industries identified through state and local Labor Market Information.
Finance Committee:
The Finance Committee manages the Request for Proposal process and bringing decision recommendations forward to the Executive and full board for all decisions related to disbursal of funds. Key funding consideration will be consistent with WIOA requirements.
